Not natively supported but the Feds have had an add in called EZ GPO for quite some time.
You could also employ Group Policy Preferences from Vista/2008 server. You can run GPP on a downlevel client/domain. This would require a Vista or Server 08 machine to create and manage the preferences, and the client-side extensions to be installed on the clients. http://www.energystar.gov/index.cfm?c=power_mgt.pr_power_mgt_ez_gpo EZ GPO at a Glance: * Provides centralized control of user power management settings (monitor power management, system standby, and hibernate) in Windows 2000 and XP * Requires no special hardware or network processes * Is offered under a BSD style open source license and has no licensing fees From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, January 23, 2009 10:20 AM To: Active Directory Admin Issues Subject: WinXP Pro GPO Is there a way to set the power settings on a WinXP Pro machine by GPO in AD?
