I believe qtpartd and gpartd are two separate and distinct programs that
seem to do the same thing.

Yes, it works well.  You have to get the server version for support of
[some] RAID controllers.  I say some because ����ve used it successfully with
some RAID controllers and had it not recognize others.  ����ve only used it
from a boot CD, so it required doing so off-hours.  I don���t know anyone who
changes partitions frequently enough to need to install it to be able to
run within windows.

I���ve also used Gparted [not qtpartd as someone else called it].  It works
well too, but the UI is a bit more confusing.  At least it was for me,
because I have rather infrequent need to use it.
