Remembering Ops Lallang
In 1987, October 27, there were mass arrest of
about 106 person in Malaysia under the Internal Security Act. Those who were
arrested included academicians, environmentalist, women activist, church
activist, community workers, politician and many others some were just
individuals (with no political, NGO or other affliations)
Some of those who were arrested included Karpal
Singh, Lim Kit Siang, Irene Xavier(women activist), Theresa Lim Chin Chin(women
activist), , Cecilia Ng(lecturer), Chee Heng Leng(lecturer), Dr Nasir (now PSM),
Julian Jeyaseelan (now in Amnesty International Malaysia), Bro Anthony
Rogers(NOHD - Catholic Church), and many many more.
LET US RE-AFFIRM OUR COMMITMENT TO CALL FOR THE
ABOLISHMENT OF ALL LAWS THAT ALLOW FOR DETENTION WITHOUT TRIAL

DETAINED AND/OR SUBJECT TO OTHER RESTRICTIONS/CONDITIONS UNDER THESE
LAWS
