No argument from this end, other than OLS and CLUE IMHO target different 
audiences and have to some degree different reasons for existence. I think 
that they could be supportive of each other but if we look at the current and 
pending user base they definitely target different audiences, hence different 
purposes. The majority of users or not code wranglers and will not be so 
pariticulariy as market share increases.

Yes I was watching with enthusiasm what came of that, Bob's presentations in 
Hamilton etc. but unfortunately nothing materialized.

Yes you are correct, but that does not negate the possibility that a "CLUE" 
could organize with the support/cooperation  of local LUG's national events 
at what  ever frequency is reasonable. CLUE could provide the overall 
planning and logistics and the local LUG could provide the on site 
administration and organizational activities. Events such as these are 
essentially  massive logistics exercises that easily can exhaust the 
resources and capabilities of any single LUG.
