<<Do u think Premier is more User friendly than Avid, I think Avid is used
in the Market nowa days. Premier has no future. So What's the basic
differences between them. Why people prefer Avid. Most of the Studios use
FCP or Avid. So is it wise to say Premiere is more useful today.>>

--Neeraj, there is a huge difference between earlier versions of Premiere
and Premiere Pro. Premiere Pro is a complete and total rewrite of the
program and it is said to be remarkably similar to AVID. But more important
we should two other things, and the first one is that, ALTHOUGH AVID enjoys
a much larger market share among the broadcast TV and film industry,
Premiere Pro is catching up, for two reasons.
First, Premiere Pro is related and dovetailed with Adobe After Effects, and
After Effects is arguably one of the TOP software programs of its kind
anwwhere and is accepted and respected the world over by ALL facets of the
film and television industry.
Adobe After Effects works equally well with both Apple and PC platforms.
Secondly, Premiere Pro and even a couple of earlier versions of Premiere ARE
used in many local advertising applications for TV, so it is the national
market share where it is currently much further behind.

Also please consider that Premiere has had the edge in corporate
communications and business video for years.

AVID has better capabilities for working with "export to film" applications
and that is where it enjoys a better reputation and one must not ignore the
age-old adavantage that Apple products have historically had over PC
platforms.

That edge, however, is starting to disappear.
Lastly, one must consider price. Price is where AVID is distinctly at a
disadvantage.

So...is it wise to say Premiere is more useful? I believe it depends on your
target market, and it also depends on your budget. Keep an eye to the
future, because I believe it can be safely said that Adobe has a desire to
capture more of the AVID market in the near future and intends to take some
more steps to make that possible

Also, Adobe is probably keenly aware of the fact that Sony has made huge
strides with their Vegas product.
