The package is "fully functional" to work with the software that is included but it will crash if you try to use it with other software, at least that is my experience with it. You can covert the captured files to dv avi but not capture them directly. If editing with premiere is your main goal this is possibly not the best capture set up you could have as many others will capture directly to dv avi and are much cheaper. It pays to do a little research before buying. I have one but recognize its limitations.
