I am almost ready to install a new external hard drive, but I
realized I am unsure about a few issues.
1. I initially planned to install Premiere Pro to the new external
hard drive, but I will be unable to plug the hard drive into a
different computer and run PP since there will be no registry files
in the different computer - right?
2. If this is true, I would have to install Windows XP on the
external hard drive in order to run PP on a different computer -
correct? (To make a long story short, I am unable to load PP on this
other computer).
3. I already have PP install on my computer's C drive. Once I get PP
install on the external hard drive (let's call it F), I need to move
all of my current projects to the F drive. I can move them to the
corresponding folders, but will the current project files still look
on the C drive for the appropriate files?
4. If this is true, is there some way to point the project files to
the F drive without having to point to each individual file once I
try openning the project?
I hope this is clear. I'm running a Dell with 2.80 gigahertz Intel
Pentium 4, 120 GB HD and 1 GB of memory. The external hard drive is
a Western Digital 160GB Media Center.
Any feedback is appreciated.
