Michelle,

I assume you are in the USA (NTSC).

Can you be more specific about the audio. What is your source for the
audio? Is the audio from your camera? Did you "normalize" the audio
(adjust it to not exceed the distortion limits)?
Also if you just play the wav file (like in Windows Media Player) does
it sound bad by itself?
[This would help to isolate any audio issues]

Also what is the CPU speed of the computer are you playing the video on?
When you make a straight mpg file does it play OK in Windows Media
Player without any problems?
[This would help to isolate any mpeg encode or playback issues]

What settings did you use to genereate(encode) the m2v file - was the
encoding greater than 7 MB/sec?
Did you use the Adobe MPEG Encoder bundled with Premiere to generate the
m2v file?
[if there were mpeg encode problems this would help to isolate a
possible cause]

Do you have a program like Power DVD or WinDVD where you can play the
DVD image from your hard drive?
[this would allow you to check everything up to the final burn process -
if this worked fine it would be something associated with either the DVD
media, the burner Drive or Nero software - i would doubt is is Nero as
it works for many others, i would look to try a different DVD media]

If you can answer some of these questions we may have some clues on how
to help.
