I've been looking into some cheaper camera's like that. Is the shot quality on
the panasonic near that of the GL2? How about at night? We don't do events, we
shoot truck shows. Brightly painted, multi-hued cars. I like the GLs for the
features, but this may be a great option for my freelance coverage guys (pickup
shots). We also get a lot of night stuff, parties, cruising, hanging out of
windows at 70MPH...Would it hold up the way my Canons do?

having another mini-dv cam is
fine, there's no lost of quality per say, but instead of buying a 1ccd
one, you should also considering getting a 3ccd Panasonic gs70 or
something similar, they are right now at about $500 price range. This
way, you get to have another cheap 3ccd one as a desk player at the same
time, you can use it to do pickup shots quickly with it or use as 2nd
cam (note, matching two different cam's lighting source might be
something hard but not difficult to accomplish).

Subject: [AP] Capturing question (Mini DV)

I can't afford a Mini DV deck, so I typically capture straght from
my Canon GL2. I really want to stop that, so can I buy a cheap Mini
DV camcorder to use for capturing, or will it affect the quality?
