I used to use DVD labels and had occasional problems with DVDs playing with
glitches on some players. I can't say for sure that it was the labels that
caused them, but they were erratic enough (occurring at different places on
different burnings of the same DVD) that I decided to opt out of labels. I
recently bought an Epson R300 at Price Club for under $100. Printing
straight to DVDs looks great, but there are a couple of drawbacks over labels:

- It's very slow to print and it takes a while to let the labels dry, a
distinct drawback if you've got a lot of DVDs to label. You have DVDs lying
all over the room, waiting to dry.

- It's amazing how fast the ink runs out and just how costly the ink is. I
believe it's probably -- milligram for milligram -- more expensive than the
most exclusive perfume.

Have any of the experienced inkjet labellers here come up with solutions?
Other than sending it out to a duplicator, of course, which is probably
what I should do if the numbers I print start rising.
