It's probably just that nobody uses it, because there's very little need,
with many of the built-in transitions that do the same thing.

Are you using the gradient wipe video effect, or the gradient wipe video
transition?

To properly use the video transition, it is best to use a grayscale image
that is 720 x 480 (0.9 pixel aspect), or 720 x 534 square pixels, assuming
you are using NTSC. (If PAL, that number is a little different, 720 x 576,
1.066 pixel aspect.)

If you are using the gradient wipe video effect, you need to place your
gradient on one of the tracks, and tell the effect which track your gradient
is on. You'll also have to set start and end keyframes for your transition
completion %.

I think you'll be much happier with the gradient wipe transition, which is
much easier to use. But, then-- one has to ask, what does your gradient look
like? And can this be accomplished with one of the built in dissolves/wipes?

Ok, I've traced people having the same prolem as I am with GRADIENT
WIPES...so is it nobody here has heard of it? Or is it so well known
that nobody bothers to respond to a question about it?

I've just started to use Pro over the last couple of weeks so...I
could use some info, please!
