Without raining on anyone's parade just a tip that premiere, for a 
person with no experience,
may not be the best choice unless you want to show the grad at a  ten  
year  reunion.
I am not saying it is impossible but some entry level programs are more 
user friendly if you are merely hooking some things together and  
deleting the more boring moments.
And if you want to put hours of home video on to a disc with no editing  
go with the program that came with your dvd burner ...there is nothing 
to be gained by dragging it into premier and in fact may add a lot of 
time to the process...anyhow how best of luck
