Hopefully I will not be opening a can of worms with this one...
We have videotaped in hundreds of locations [model trains]
If I were to get Everyone's WRITTEN permission I would have a pretty large
file,
Not to mention all the time it takes to get the paperwork done.
When we interview someone, we ask them if it's ok to put them on TV and they
ALWAYS say YES.
We have not had one person SAY NO in 10 years.
Actually there was one guy at a train show selling TRAIN SOUNDS and he
emphatically threatened me that
If any of his sounds wound up on my show he would sue me! HE WAS THE ONLY
EXCEPTION that comes to mind.
I know that we are taking a chance,
but the day that someone SUES me after giving oral permission has yet to
happen and based on the subject matter
we don't see this happening.
I would think that based on the SUBJECT, that will determine HOW SENSITIVE
people will be.
Since our show does not make anyone look bad and it is not political we have
LESS to worry about than many other videographers.
I would also hesitate to have anyone sign a release based on the LEGALESE to
begin with.
Then they would have something in writing to go to a lawyer to have him find
some kind of loophole in the document.
How about some of you posting your RELEASE FORM Text?
