The work area bar would not change if you have something at the end or
stuff, one way is you can DRAG the end point till it fits the length of
the clips or zoom out completely, double click on the work area bar
section (the yellow bar) and it will automatically expand to fit the
entire clip area.

Btw, this info is in the help file of your premiere program and also in
the manual. :)

Hello, i'm using adobe premiere 6.0...for most of my projects the out 
point of the timeline changes when more items are added to the 
project.  this works fine, except for one project where the yellow bar 
in the timeline window doesn't change length when new files are added 
to the timeline.  i've gone through the settings and cannot find an 
option to change it so that the end point of the project stays in sync 
with the last file in the project.  if anyone has a solution to this 
problem i'd really appreciate it.  thanks!
