Query aimed at: PC users with OS=MS XP Prof using Sony or other make camcorder and capturing using 1394 firewire into Prem Pro software.
Are you having any problems with your PC not recognising the camcorder when connecting using 1394/firwire? I have two Sony digital cameras. DCRTRV60 - in for second repair because it stopped being recognised by my PC. DCRTRV110 - having been ok connecting to my pc for years, two days ago it too stopped being recognised. Possibilities: Could PCs send any kind of signal which may then create a fault within a camera? Is MS XP SP2 suspect due to newer internal controls on firewire/1394? Is Prem Pro a factor in that the capture process could create a problem? hardware: Dell WS Precision 530; 1Gb; scsi cheetah HD 140Gb. Adobe Prem Pro and video suite.
