Wow, Linda

That was quite the lesson.. and brief too, lol. I looked at the boris
interface within premiere before, and geez, its a whole different language it
seems. If took you a long time to learn it, then I'm glad I didn't commit to
learning it. Like I always say.. I don't think I'll live long enough to learn
all the software I'd like to know.

Now how does Boris compare to AE? Do you use AE at all?

Here's the Boris FX products page so you can see the difference...

http://borisfx.com/products/index.php

Basically:

- Boris FX 8 allows you to manipulate images (video / stills) with movement
and effects. It allows really good keying, colour correction, lighting,
distortion, blur etc etc. It does a lot of the stuff After Effects does, but
I prefer the way it works from within PPro.

- Boris Graffiti is a 2D / 3D title animation programme. Look at the feature
tour on their website... I've made whole programmes with it, and use it very
often. As it uses Vector text you can also export to flash; I haven't done
this yet, as I'm learning Flash itself at the moment.

- Boris RED is all of the features of FX and Graffiti in one application.
Red also does things that neither FX nor Graffiti can do. If I'd been
starting from scratch today, I would have bought Red, but I've used Boris FX
for some years on various editing systems, and just added Graffiti think
year.

NB: All the Boris products require loads of memory (I wouldn't use less than
2gb) and are heavy to render. Initially previewing within Boris at a lower
quality is vital.

Also they are complicated packages, giving a lot to learn.

So I guess in answer to your question that Red is best, but it depends on
what you're looking to do. What did you have in mind?
