Get yourself a copy of VideoReDo and you then will be able to edit vob files.
Great program. Do a google search and you will find more info.

  Hello All

A relative gave me a DVD recorder for a Xmas present which records on to
DVD+R & DVD+RW discs. Previously if I wanted to save a TV movie I would
copy it onto VHS tape, capture as an AVI file & author with Encore.

I have a movie on a DVD+RW & have managed to get the VOB files onto my
computer. The first VOB has a start section & the last VOB has an end
section which are not part of the movie. When capturing as AVI, this
  problem was avoided.

Before I search the web, has anyone worked round a problem like this or
do I have to convert to AVI, edit & re-author. The latter hardly seems
  worth the effort.

  Dave
