I use Maxtor drives, 2 are storebought externals, the other two are regular
drives in external cases from TigerDirect. I have great luck with them. I've
been using the oldest one for 2 years.

Me too, and i just figured it out a couple of days ago. It was a HUGE pain.
But... I have 3 of the LaCie drives (one of which I fly with) and they have
been great. No problems at all except for the power supply, so I'll buy more.
