To get a single file when exporting your MPEG-2 file, look for a box
called "Multiplexing." Whichever box is checked, click the other one
and you should get a single file out of your export.
I'm not familiar with either of your DVD authoring programs, but, in
order to burn the DVD with 2 files, you'll need to place the .m2v file
on the video timeline and the audio file on the audio timeline.
