Been playing around with this problem.. Checked out Procoder, its
cool, but I have to practise with the settings.. I to get Divx
before procoder would work. And man, Procoder takes forever to do
its thing, lol.

Got this PAL clip imported to Premiere Pro 1.0, but I'm just getting
a black screen on the preview moniter, audio conforms but doesn't
play.. Just black as the timeline indicator moves across the timeline

Per Johnny, I did the clip properties check in premiere, here are
the highlights:

Image size: 640x272
Pixel Depth:12
Frame Rate: 25
Audio: 44100 hz compressed

Average Data Rate 194.37 kbps
Pixel Aspect Ratio: 100

Interleave: 1 : 0.65

Compressor: "XVID", XviD MPEG-4 Codec

Additional Info:
Nandub v1.0rc2

Is it the codec? I installed divx, but it doesn't seem to be
helping in premiere, but does in Procoder.. I was looking in the
program files, and thought about copying and pasting the .dll codec
files from the Divx program file to the Premiere program files.. (I
was scared to actually try it though, lol). Thought I'd ask here
for some feedback first.

I tried importing the file straight into Encore, because my goal is
to get it out on NTSC DVD, but Encore says it only takes resolutions
720x480, 720x486, and 704x480. Any authoring programs take xvid
encoded, 640x272 resolution .avi files?

Thanks for your feedback, gentlemen, I really appeciate it..

Frank
