I have the same problem last week. My only resort is to open it using MS
movie maker then save it as DV-AVI.

Subject: [AP] Error Message: "Unsupported format or damaged file"

Hello,

I have an .avi file that plays fine but when I try yo load it into
Premiere, I get the "Unsupported format or damaged file" error message.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

I thought it might be a lack of the proper codecs...so I tried to
update them., but the file still doesn't import.

Any suggestions?

You are welcome to respond directly to my email address:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] <mailto:discovery%40map.com> com, if you wish.

Thank you all, in advance, for -any- insight you can provide.

Best regards,

Keith
