I am finding it hard to believe that one camera sped only a little, unless
someone accidentally triggered the stop and immediately started recording
again

video is locked to sync at 29.97 fps. that's crystal controlled or
something, it should not slip even a little. I've been doing multicam in
ppro 2, 40 minnit clips of a symphony concert with not a problem

the solution, assuming i am correct (it happens occasionally!), is to cut
something out of one clip to make it match the other. I fear that speed
changed would just throw everything off

if you just let it play through, does the audio suddenly go out of sync at
some point? that's where I'd start looking

1. You can change the length / duration of the clips by right-clicking them
and choose Speed/Duration. Or, you can use the Rate Stretch Tool from the
Tools palette, which will allow you to manually drag the In / Out handles of
a clip and shorten/lengthen the clip in the Timeline window.

However, in your case, the trick is going to be calculating how many frames
it is off. Personally, I would go to the end of the longest clip, and count
backwards to figure out how many frames the audio is off. Once you know
that, you can right click on the long clip and choose Speed/Duration to
shorten the duration by the desired # of frames.

2. 1.5 doesn't come with any built-in multicamera options, so you'll have to
do this using two tracks. You're correct that Premiere only shows you the
top most video track, when the two clips overlap. Again, this is a matter of
preference, but I would put the better of the two clips on track 1. Then I
would add to track 2 the "good chunks" of the other clip that I want to use.
This can be done "additive" by keeping the second clip in the source monitor
and only adding the portions that you want. Or you can do this "subtractive"
by putting the second clip on track 2 and using the Razor tool to splice the
areas you don't want and manually remove them.

Ideally, one of the two clips has better audio, so you can completely remove
the second audio. Multicameras, IMHO, look better when you've got one audio
source, but with multiple video sources.

Like the guy below I'm new to Premiere Pro 1.5 and have two video
clips of the same event taken from different angles. I figured out how
to view the clips in dual monitor mode in Premiere (the help files are
not that good), and drop markers on a distinguishing frame in each
clip and line up the markers in the event timeline.

Now I have a couple questions

  1) toward the end of the clips it seems they aren't synced, as if
camera #1 was running a little faster than camera #2. How can I get
Premiere to expand or squish (which is better?) one of the clips so
they both are the same length?

  2) how can I transition from one camera source to the next? I have
camera #1 in Video 3 of the timeline (audio is in Audio 3) and camera
#2 in Video 2 of the timeline (audio in Audio 2), but when I try to
play them back all I see is camera 1 (I am hearing the audio from
both, which is how I can tell they're out of sync)

Any help or reference to a good web tutorial or book would be greatly
  appreciated...

  Hello All,

I am new to video editing. And I need help.

I have two video clips of the same event from two different angel, from
two diffrent camera. Now I need to make a single video clip, from these
two, taking different parts from different angel.

So here what I am doing, first I put the clips in different track.
Video track 1 and Video track 2. The audio went 1 and 2 resepectively.
Now I want to synchronize them. Once done, I would cut parts from Video
track 1, so that in these places Video track 2 can be visible. And so
  on...

Is this the best way to do this? If so, how do I synchronize in Premier
Pro and how do cut off parts from tracks.

If not, please give some tips, so that I can start. If possible, please
  provide links Premier Pro tutorials.

  Thanks

A better way to do it is using the dual monitor within Premiere. Place
  one
video on a track so it appears in the right monitor window. Find some
distinct action or movement by the subject in the picture. Once you
  find a
defining instance in the picture use the * key on the number pad to
  place a
marker at that point. Drag the second video to the left monitor, find
  that
same defining moment and then using single frame forward or backward
  (right
arrow or left arrow) find the frame that matches the one in the right
monitor. Place a marker on it and then line up the markers on the
  timeline.
