Google SSE2 to get an explanation that is better than I could give you, but as I understand it,it has to do with the video display capability. But SSE2 is not so new, in fact there is also SSE3. Many machines should support SSE2. The thing you may need to look for is this - does your chip support sse2? AMD makes more than one kind of chip.
