I was just hired as an office manager at a production company.

For my own needs, I'm able to back up footage to DVD's, it's
cumbersome, but it works. I also keep the original tapes.

But I've been asked to research backup options for this company and
they shoot far more video than I'm accustomed to and shoot in HD so
much less will fit onto a DVD.

I'm afraid of getting hard drives up in the terrabyte size. Hard
drives tend to fail without warning.

Obviously we want something economical and that can be kept offsite -
we keep original tapes in the office.

What solutions have you found for backups? I'd like a bevy of ideas
and any recommended brand names, or offsite storage services, etc.

Thanks!

Alex
