When capturing, Premiere is just transferring the file to your harddrive via firewire. So if it's detecting an audio change, that means the camera is sending out the audio change during playback. Which means that it was recorded that way on tape. So this means that there is either an audio glitch on the tape, or if you were recording on top of an existing recording, perhaps there is a break in the recording and Premiere is catching a flash frame of the original recording underneath? Does that make sense.

I am trying to capture video from a miniDV tape in PP2. I am opening the capture window and clicking on 'capture tape' because I want everything on the tape. I know for sure that the audio format isn't changing because I will get this error message right in the middle of a conversation between two people. I know the camera man didn't switch any audio settings during the filming. Here is the error message: The record has stopped because the audio format has changed inthe media being captured.
