Thanks for looking that up. I also got responds from the Matrox support. The .mvrt file is a matrox specific file. Here's the response.
XMP: Metadata is any data that helps to describe the content or characteristics of a file. With an XMP-enabled application, information about a project can be captured during the content-creation process and embedded within the file and into a content-management system. MVRT: These files are created by the Matrox tools anytime you create or altar a Matrox project. They contain information specific to that project, which Premiere uses when loading them. Therefore, they should no be deleted.
