Dear Professional Colleagues,
We have a product developed in the Middle East and wish to continue
editing this product. Unfortunately I've run up against a challenge
that I hope someone can help me solve.
A professor has returned from Iran where she shot several months of
video and used an Iranian production house to help develop a draft 45
minute video (Iranian life).
Problem is that the capture was apparently accomplished with Canopus
DVX card and using EDIUS Pro 4. Then, according to the folks in Iran
all the editing was accomplished with Adobe Premiere 7 (on PC).
There seems to be no comprehensive project file - associations with
video segments has to be reconstructed. But when once accomplished we
seem to be left with many gaps - is this the result of us not having
Canopus DVX card? I don't believe so, but ... . Also we have now
acquired a 30 day trial of Edius Pro 4 - but this doesn't appear able
to open (or have any effect upon) either of the project files we've
been provided.
Unfortunately we do all of our work in FCP 6 and are not entirely
familiar with Adobe Premiere, not having worked with it for several
years - although we have one workstation with Premiere 7.
Hope someone can help us.
Mike
