When installing Nero, you absolutely want to do a custom install. Make sure to ONLY INSTALL the basic burning support. That's what it does best, the rest is all (IMHO) useless BLOATWARE. But even though you choose to NOT install Nero Scout, it installs that anyway. Google for disable nero scout to kill it. Nero used to be split into several downloads, with one being the basics and the rest available as addons you could download and try, then purchase if you liked them. Must not have been selling well so Nero switched to packing the whole useless lot into a single, massive download. Nero 8 is even worse, according to several reviews and forum posts I've seen. You can still get the last release of Nero 7 here http://www.nero.com/eng/downloads-nero7-update.php It's Vista compatible. (I was half expecting them to pull a Microsoft and try to force everyone with Vista to use Nero 8.) ____________________________________________________________________________________ Looking for last minute shopping deals?
