If you're concerned about storage space, have a look at Linear Tape Open, or LTO.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linear_Tape-Open An LTO-4 tape holds 800 gigabytes UNCOMPRESSED. Some places list LTO-4 as 1.6TB, but that's compressed. LTO-5 will soon bring 1.6TB uncompressed. :) The tapes are inexpensive, starting at about $60 USD. However the drives are still pretty expensive. They start at about $2,000 USD and go up, way up, in price. Not too bad for a business or small studio, but a large chunk of change for an individual or sole proprietorship business. I'd dearly love to see an affordable LTO-4 drive. I have around 750GB total storage on one PC. Being able to back it all up onto ONE piece of media, without compression... that would be very nice. I haven't been able to do that since one PC I had with Windows 95 and some extended length QIC tape, with compression. ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
