So, this morning burning quite a few discs to see what I can discover
about Encore DVD.

The results of my search for a solution to the strobe effect in fast
motion in my concert pianist project. The biggest improvement, tho not
completely smoothing out the motion was to encode at higher rates.
Interlace/deinterlace and lower/upper field didn't do so much...

BUT...

When I went to play back a disc encoded at 2 pass VBR 7000 minimum, 8000
target, 9000 tops, my DVD player is informing me that the data rates I
set don't seem to have much to do with what the machine is reading.
Scale was reading high of 7.9 in one of the most motion intense clips,
low of 4.5, and everything in between.

The CBR encode at 8000 gave similar if not the same readings.

Maybe later I will take a read of all the other discs I burned at
various CBR/VBR encoding settings. I was wondering why the project size
was always 4.69 GB, and during burning the dialog said 4.33 GB,
regardless of encode settings.

I am understanding less and less about Encore.
