making own film now is not very feasible due to the economic state, in fact, many independent films, even during good economic state, would not do well, it's almost likly to win a lottery than to get a film that would have a good return (in the indie world).
The other way to make money is to do editing for OTHERS indie filmmakers, or to do corporate videos or do tv program for community that you can surely get enough sponsors for.
