Lee, Using Explorer is exactly what you should not do. You MUST use the Sony software. When Tim wrote that the file was MPEG, I assumed that he had recorded in SD. If he records in HD (AVCHD) he should get an .m2ts file and also a separate file containing the Metadata which in my case is again a .cmuprops file. There is another reason to use the Sony software. The SD card will be formatted FAT32 which means a maximum file size of 2Gb. If you copy the files with Explorer you will loose frames. The Sony software will stitch long recordings to one file again.
