Try this:

1)      Right mouse on Adobe Premiere icon

2)      Select Compatibility mode to Windows XP SP2

I was having the same problem, but did not know what was causing it. I

After a delay I have finally changed to Win7 64bit.
Both Premiere CS4 and CS5 work well in it BUT ONLY
with new projects.
I still have three unfinished projects on my computer.
When I want to continue with them, both CS4 and CS5 will
stop and close when I open them.
Would that be normal or does anybody have a fix for that?

Fortunately my dual boot system has come to the rescue.
I still have XP on the computer and installed CS4 into it and
the projects work there although they were 
[truncated by sender]
