Yes, I think Barry is correct. When I changed computers, for Adobe products
all I had to do was Deactivate (under Help) while on the internet, after
which one can uninstall, then install on the new computer, then Activate on
the new. It was simple and fast.

Now I don't use Elements, but since it is an Adobe product I suspect its
technique is the same as the Suites. And as Barry said, one can use the
phone (which I think someone said is an automated system but that fact I
don't know).

I believe you can 'un-register' a serial number as easy as registering one.
There is the 'activate over phone' option too.

Be interesting to see how others have achieved this on stand alone machines.

Subject: [AP] newbie

Hi everybody,
newbie to the group here. I just bought Adobe Premiere Elements 8 and
installed it on a vista 32 bit machine dual core 3 gigs of ram, mostly
because web access was required to validate the software.

Unfortunately, it runs about as fast as grass grows on this machine.

I would like to move it to a 64 bit win 7 machine w/6 gigs of ram that is
not connected to the web. I get the feeling that Adobe does not want it to
be convenient to move this app to another computer. Am I already dead in the
water, or can anyone offer hope that I can move it successfully to the other
computer? and if so, can anybody offer any suggestions as to how to go about
getting un-validated on the previous installation and re-validated on the
second installation?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
