I have been busy for just about the whole day to sort out my problem. I succeeded to salvage my project but the lagarith codec problem still exists.
To salvage the project my good old dual boot system came to the rescue again. As a second operating system I still have XP on my computer with CS4 installed. The project opened without a problem inclusive of the lagarith clip. I rendered the clip back to Microsoft AVI and replaced the one in CS5 with it. I downloaded the latest lagarith installer which definitely installs the codec. I see it in Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. I uninstalled and re-installed it but Premiere still does not see it. I don't seem to be the only one with that problem. Check http://forums.adobe.com/message/2837044 *Question: Is anybody else using lagarith????? *Uwe* * > Hi Uwe, > > Can't say I know the specifics, but it looks like the good old 'upgrade' > mode has taken place here, I.E. they forgot or didn't include that (and > maybe other) codec's, as usual. > > As a side note, I reinstalled XP Pro on this machine a while back, to SP3 > from SP2, now I cannot play WMA (native Windows??) files at all in the > Windows media player.work that one out.. > > Must admit, that 'hack' with the CUDA support worked the first few > times on > the laptop (for AVCHD real time rendering), but hasn't since.
