Usually, installing most software in 64 bit mode will install both the 32
and 64 bit variants into the relevant folders, so backward compatibility is
available for 32 bit programs. Seems like a downfall in compatibility is in
force here. Ask Ben G to look into CS5/CS4 API's or whatever to correct the
problem and make them talk once again.

>From my limited knowledge of programming and helping developers, this seems
to be a problem many of them seem to overlook in this 64 bit world.
(Sometimes it down to pure copyright, others it's a misunderstanding.)

Not sure if there is a 'bug log' available in any Adobe software, especially
when third party software is in use. If Ben knows his stuff, he should be
able to determine this problem with a simple program that logs all the
issues.

Lee,
I am sure the problem is a "little something" - the difficulty is to find it
I downloaded the installer from the following website
http://lags.leetcode.net/codec.html
The file one downloads is LagarithSetup_1320.exe which is supposed
to install both 32 and/or 64bit
without giving you the option to select the one you want. CP does not
give an indication which one
has been installed. One would assume that in a 64bit operating system
the 64bit version would be
installed.
I previously used the manual installer from the same website which
worked fine with 32bit.
The manual installation for 64bit has to be done differently to 32bit
(as explained in a read me
file that comes with the installer) but I could not figure out how it is
done.

I sent a mail to Ben Greenwood who developed the codec. His only
suggestion was to
run the setup. exe as "Administrator", which I did - no difference. Will
ask him to tell me how I can
ensure that I have in fact installed the 64bit version.
