This can't be answered in one simple answer. The only way to learn
color grading is by doing some self studying, using books or DVDs or
online classes.

Even if you would use standard color grading filters to achieve
special effects, you'll still have to learn the basics first because
you can only apply color effects to color neutral images.

Ok I'll still give it a shot:

Most important are your black, white and mid levels and color
balance. Use a waveform monitor for levels, put blacks on zero, put
whites on 100, put mids in the middle. For checking color balance I
like to use the color parade monitor. Then if there's too much red,
try to increase the blue and green a little rather than decreasing
the red. Usually I find my shots too red so I always add some blue to
give it a cooler look.

You mention Hollywood style... the color of the image depends heavily
on the kind of movie. Horror and drama often has a cool look,
romantic movies and comedies often have a redish look. Watch the skin
tones in these movies. You can have a romantic movie playing in
Alaska in December, still everybody has a skin color you normally
only get after 2 weeks in Barbados. Then if you watch a horror movie,
they will even make very healthy girl Megan Fox look pale. This is a
combination of color grading and special make-ups.

So one single Hollywood style really does not exist.
