I don't know about "trends" but we all know that historically righteousness
and good and beauty and joy have been associated with light and sunshine and
morning, while evil has been associated with black and darkness and night
and fear. Perhaps today's artists are merely emphasizing these
characteristics for impact in their story.

- - . but the trend these days for night scenes and dark indoor places
seems to be for extra realism, ie make them really dark. Memphis Beat was
that way, Hawaii Five-0 has plenty of extra dark scenes, so did Chase. Same
deal with V. Yeah, I get that the 5th Column hides out in a dark basement,
but does it have to be *that dark*?
