I knew my cute inexpensive lightweight tripods were a little jerky, but I thought some WD40 or silcone spray would solve it. Nope. I was shooting the moon on big moon night March 19th ... of course stupid me.. i didn't string barbed wire in front of the camera so I got some guy walking through my time lapse
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CB9fqeTDvYk anyway.. the jerky pan doesn't show up in that video clip just a jerk. So my question here is... how cheap can I go and still get nice smooth panning. Is it still called panning when you're moving elevation? Are all fluid panheads equal? Or are some cheap fluid panheads too cheap and still going to be jerky motion. thanks a lot for any replies. paul ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
