Neil,
The Warp stabilizer is actually in After Effects 5.5.
I had the opportunity to try it and uploaded the first two clips I did
to Vimeo showing
before and after. Nothing spectacular but it gives a good idea how well the
stabilizer works.
I agree a stabilizer should not replace a tripod or any other gadget to
steady your shots
but sometimes one simply has to do hand held shots and the stabilizer is
a good tool to
make them look smoother.
