It looks like I picked up at the tail end of a long discussion ... perhaps this
may help. I also have a GTX285, CUDA enabled, with Mercury active: all running
on a i940 system. Sorry if this was covered earlier.
My problem was my antivirus! I disabled Norton AV and my large projects went
from barely usable to fast-fast-fast! Another option, is to force your AV not
to look at your working/scratch/temp disks (or folders).
