Depends on what the last version of Windows you used was. If it was Vista,
you'll be fine with 7.

If you're jumping right from XP (or older) to 7, you're going to be lost until
you find where Microsoft moved everything.

One thing MS has done in 7 is completely removing all but the default Start
Menu. No more XP style, no more 9x "Classic" style. You're stuck with the
scrolling menu MS tried to foist on us back with WinMe.

IMHO, the XP UI is dang near perfect. It's highly utilitarian, doesn't have the
pointless "Ohh! Look at me! I'm shiny!" BS. The one bit on 95 (which has
fortunately been left alone since) which gave me the most trouble was where MS
rather stupidly put the CLOSE button where the MAXIMIZE button was in 3.x. I'm
sure untold millions of hours of work were lost to that back in the mid 90's.
"I'll just maxi- ohhhh #%#^#^$#^ I spent two hours writing that! $#^$#^# you
Microsoft!" ;P

I've been a computer user since 1983, DOS since 2.1, Windows since 3.0. I
picked up on Mac in the late 90's but started with a IIsi and System 7.1.
