Adobe Premiere Pro CS3
Windows XP Home Edition

I use premiere pro on a daily basis this time of year. I tried opening it one
morning and it started opening the purple banner came up and went throught all
the components, but when the window tried to open it only came up with the top
toolbar then immediately shut down. Will not open.
After trying multiple fixes, I decided to try to reinstall. I went to control
panel and clicked change/uninstall and it went through the motions. I put the
disc in to reinstall, put in the serial # and thought I had completed
installation HOWEVER, I forgot that my computer was not hooked to the internet
hence did not register with Adobe (I have since hooked it up to the internet
and still nothing).
Now I cannot uninstall, when I click on it it does nothing. My son has a disc
containing CS3 suit, when we tried to install it from there it says that pro
and encore are already installed.
We have tried repairing C drive, repairing Windows with the Windows disc, which
is why we are believing its an Adobe problem.
The only thing that I did to the computer was I inadvertantly disconnected a
portable hard drive without clicking the "safely remove hardware". I've been
told that shouldn't make any different, but thought Id mention it. Also, I had
my Epson printer software opened at the same time of the premiere problem and
when I later tried to open the file I was using at the same time, I got an
error saying it was either not an Epson file or it was corrupt. That is why at
first I thought it was a Windows problem. As near as I can tell everything else
on the computer is functioning properly.
It is hardly ever connected to the internet because that's how I lost Premiere
6.5~~automatic update of Service Pack 2 rendered it usele

Thanks for any help or suggestions
