You should use a SSD for the OS and programs. It will help tremendously with
loading speed and OS slickness.
You can also use a SSD as a scratch disk for AP. Again this will help
tremendously with speed of operation.
All final output can be stored on a HDD, where speed is secondary and capacity
and reliability are primary.

Alan.

So what are we supposed to store on SSD? I
thought the OS and all applications? Please explain.

And I'll follow all advices I'm getting here,
will order my parts in 2 weeks from now.

As for CUDA cores, please check this out if you not already know it:

  http://www.studio1productions.com/Articles/PremiereCS5.htm

Scroll down to "First Benchmark Test Using CS6 (Updated 12/08/12"

According to this test there is not much
performance difference between a card with 96 or
1500 CUDAs; timeline render is 10% faster. So
what do extra DUCAs provide with? Real-time
playback of filtered videos or effects?

And happy holidays to you and all the others.

  Rieni
