Yes, after the next 9/11 nobody will be able to edit and get out the news coverage reports. Centralizing is never good, whether it's for commercial or public services, finances, government, etc.
And I'm in the middle of nowhere in France, we don't have cable or DSL here, so I'm using internet by satellite and it can be bloody slow from time to time and sometimes not work at all for an hour or so.
