Sorry about that.... the message give for the mount problem is:

ANR5308E: Volume on 402 is not write protected

Needless to say, the solution is to disable the volume for writing and
reply to the mount again .... this seems to have been handled fine by
our 3490 drives and still is, however 3590 drives are not mounting tapes
r/o when requested.

Subject:  Problem mounting tape r/o on 3590 drive

Hello,

Recently we migrated to a mixed 3490/3590 tape environment.   ADSM
(V3.1.2.50) is running on VM/ESA V2 R3.0 SL9806.  The problem is that
when ADSM asks for a tape to be mounted r/o, the robotic unit mounts it
r/w and ADSM rejects the tape since it is not r/o.  Any idea why this is
occurring or how the problem can be remedied.  Suggestions would be most
appreaciated.
