You can exclude in two ways: exclude /abc/def/test/.../* exclude.dir /abc/def/test/ You can omit the beginning slash (better don't) but do not put too many dots in front - you can exclude /home/bigboss/abc/def/test/very_important_file.report Note also that former statement increases "Total number of objects inspected: " counter (as well as the time backup runs ;-) especially for many files in there. The later just skips the whole dir and does not care at all what it contains (but I do not know does it expire already backed up files !?).

I can not make a working inclexcl file. I am on a TSM 3.7.3.6 server with 3.7.2 and 4.1.3 clients. Here is my layout... both my api and ba /bin/dsm.sys files point to an inclexcl file. If I have a directory structure: /abc/def/test/subtest/junk and wish to exlude the subdirectory /abc/dev/test and the subdirectories and files below, what do I put in my inclexcl file??? I have used the exclude and exclude.dir statements with many variations and have had NO luck excluding anything. If anyone can offer any suggestions, I would be very grateful!
