Petur,

I had a similar experience with LVD SCSI cable to a 3584. It turned out to
be a loose pin or bent pin in the connector. Once we replaced the cable
everything worked fine. Have your CE checkit it out or try a different
cable.

Good luck.

Subject: Repeded I/O Error on drives. HELP!!

Hi I have a problem.

I am using TSM Server 4.2.1.4 WIN NT
I have a Qualstar Library TLS-8433
I have 2 IBM Ultrium 3580 drives (firmware 16E0)

This is a new library and, we are having repeded I/O Errors witch look like
this.

"
11/01/2001 13:09:33      ANR8302E I/O error on drive LTODRV1 (\\.\TAPE0)
(OP=READ,
                          Error Number=1117, CC=0, KEY=2B, ASC=4B, ASCQ=00,

SENSE=F0.00.2B.00.00.80.00.1C.00.00.00.00.4B.00.00.00.00-

.00.00.00.00.02.00.00.00.00.00.00.00.0E.00.00.E5.6A.01.0-
                          0, Description=An undetermined error has
occurred).
                          Refer to Appendix D in the 'Messages' manual for
                          recommended action.

"

And sometimes this

"ANR8302E I/O error on drive LTODRV2 (\\.\TAPE1) (OP=OFFL, Error Number=21,
CC=0, KEY=00, ASC=00, ASCQ=00,
SENSE=**NONE**,
Description=An undetermined error has occurred). Refer to Appendix D in the
'Messages' manual for recommended action."

has anyone seen this?

When Space Reclimation starts it can only move about 75-90% of the tape and
the
rest it always get a I/O error.

I get this error in my event log

"The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( Ultrium ) could not be
found.
It contains the following insertion string(s): \Device\Tape1."

I have verified that

Dos anyone know what this means?

Please help me!
