You should be modifying the reclaim percentage when you want to kick off
reclamation on this pool. I usually set it to 65% when I want to kick it
off and I do it every other day on my copy pools with administrator
schedules. These are parameters that work well for me and you might need to
experiment and find what works for you.

Perfect. Thanks again. Should the reclaim % be at 100 on these?
That is where they are at but the book was saying that it should be at 50
or more.

David,
Yes the tapes should become scratches as soon as the reuse time has
expired.

looks like the reclaimed tapes won't be available until the 14 day reuse
tiem expires now. At least they are in a 'pending' state. Is this what
I should see?

Dave,
The volumes in this pool must still have valid data on them. Do you
still have valid data on tapes in the associated primary tape pool?
Maybe you coul consolidate the tape using reclamation?

I am new to this list, but wanted some insight into a problem I've having.
I'm also very very new to ADSM....learning as I go. It got threw into
my
lap....the boss said..."here, learn this!". :o)

I am no longer getting tapes to expire from the Vault. Bear with me
here.
The expiration is set to 14 days but I've got tapes in the vault that are
from years ago. These volumes are assigned to the copy_dbdaily_pool
storage pool. How can I get these volumes to expire? Can I manually
expire them?

Dave
