Check the definitions (http://www.tivoli.com/products/licensing/enhanced-vbp-definitions.doc).
"For IBM Tivoli products, processors installed in servers require licensing." "A server is a computer system that provides services to one or more clients and/or other devices over a network. Examples include, but are not limited to, file servers, print servers, mail servers, database servers, application servers, and Web servers." So the NT clients would not require Processor licenses (unless they are acting as a "Server"!) - but would require a Client license ("A client is a computer system or process that requests a service of another computer system that is typically referred to as a server.") -----Original Message----- From: Bill Mansfield [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, April 25, 2002 12:57 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: New Tivoli licensing - what "processor" mean AFAIK, you count all processors, TSM server and TSM clients. If you have a 2-processor Unix server and 10 1-processor NT clients, you have 12 processors. You them multiple by the right $ amount depending on whether you are "regular" or "enterprise edition". _____________________________ William Mansfield Senior Consultant Solution Technology, Inc 630 718 4238
